Veterinary Hospital Manager

Department: Practice Manager
Location: Houston, TX

Tanglewilde Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Manager who combines operational excellence, strong leadership skills, and a passion for team culture. The ideal candidate will bring prior veterinary experience along with a proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams while driving hospital growth through strategic and business-minded decision-making.

As Hospital Manager, you will partner closely with the Medical Director and leadership team to oversee daily operations, support staff development, and help guide the hospital’s continued success.

**The Hospital Manager will work 2 days a week on the floor and as needed.**

Key Responsibilities Include:

Financial Leadership

  • Monitor hospital performance metrics and financial health
  • Manage budgets, payroll, and day-to-day financial operations Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, revenue growth, and profitability through data-driven decisions

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure smooth daily workflow and hospital efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, DEA, and VMB regulations Oversee inventory, equipment maintenance, and hospital protocols and procedures

Strategic Growth & Business Development

  • Collaborate with leadership on long-term hospital goals and initiatives
  • Support practice growth through community outreach, referral relationships, and service expansion Assist with marketing initiatives and business development opportunities to enhance hospital visibility and revenue growth

Project & Facility Management

  • Oversee scheduling, facility maintenance, and administrative operations
  • Lead operational projects that align with hospital goals and improve team functionality

Client & Community Engagement

  • Support a positive client experience and address client concerns professionally
  • Promote client retention and community engagement efforts
  • Partner with the team on marketing and relationship-building initiatives
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and positive workplace culture

Schedule, Benefits and Compensation:

  • Compensation: $50,000-$60,000 annual base salary*
  • Bi-annual bonus opportunities: Based on hospital performance
  • Hiring bonus package: Up to $2000 based on experience and credentials
  • CE allowance: up to $1,000 based on credentials

Your Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of business management experience required
  • Veterinary experience is required as DVM assisting is expected
  • CVPM or equivalent education preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills with a collaborative and servant leadership approach
  • Resilience and adeptness in handling emotionally charged situations.
  • Proficiency in budget management.
  • Experience with team training and supervision.
  • Strong computer literacy and adaptability to new systems.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Capacity to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision.
